Cobots can assist assembly workers in many ways: they can lift heavy loads or take on monotonous, one-sided tasks, such as repeatedly picking up parts。They can reduce the burden on workers and protect their health。For jobs that are very continuous (such as turning wire screws, riveting or gluing connections), you can choose to use Cobot when a worker cannot do it as accurately, quickly, consistently and safely as a machine。Cobot can also provide a valuable service at a time when technicians are in short supply。

The performance of Cobot depends on the size and difficulty of the parts to be processed。By choosing the appropriate size of Cobot and the corresponding size of linear guide rail and lifting column, the relevant performance can be adjusted。Many Cobot applications require an image processing system to grab parts from unsorted boxes, perform optical quality checks, or ensure accurate positioning during retrieval。With the help of special software, cameras and force detection systems, Cobot can precisely assemble parts and even complete screw tightening with Cobot。

For example, an employee places an assembled component on a designated counter at a work station and signals Cobot by clicking a button that the component is ready for shipping。The Cobot moves to the exact position via a linear guide and lifting column, identifies the workpiece with a 3D camera system, measures the height, and determines if it needs to go higher or deeper。It then picks up the components and transports them to the next station。In a continuous working environment, the next stop may be a warehouse, storage box, or packaging station where parts are stored。Cobot can recognize patterns to see if it has the right part。
